DescriptionThese two images are of the Great Salt Lake Base and Meridian points in Salt Lake City. The point was fixed by Orson Pratt and Henry G. Sherwood in August, 1847, and all city streets were named and numbered from this point. The stone monument shown at left was set by David H. Burr in August of 1855. These images are taken from a calendar produced by the Utah Council of Land Surveyors. This is for February 2010.
