Description of Service |
Diane Evans enlisted in the US Army in 1967 as a nursing student. She talks about her service in Vietnam from August 1968 until August 1969 as a nurse and was stationed at the 36th Evacuation Hospital in Vung Tau and then at the 71st Evacuation Hospital in Pleiku. She shares personal experiences in Vietnam, dealing with PTSD, and her parent’s reaction to her service. She also explains the events that caused her to organize the Women’s Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC along with stories of those who helped contribute to its success. Currently, Diane Evans resides in Montana. |
