Biographical Note/Historical Note +/-

Oscar F. Jesperson, Jr. taught at what is now Utah Valley University for thirty-five years, from 1972-2007. At various times he taught classes in English, geography, government, history, music, and psychology. During the sixteen years he spent as department chair he transformed the General Studies department into the History and Political Science department. He served as the president of the Goodwill Association for twenty years, and was selected as Teacher of the Year by the Alumni Association twice (1979 and 1997). He received his B.A. in History from San Francisco State University and his M.A. in United States History and Junior College Administration from Brigham Young University.
