Jeep to be Given Avay at Dance Volume 8 No. 4 Student Council Plans Future Events In this weeks "Student Council meeting numerous items were discussed, including several upcoming activities.On October 12th, there will be a Deer Hunt Dance. The door prize will be a hunting Jeep. To win the jeep, students will keep their ticket stub. At intermission the winning stub will be drawn. On October :i0, the student government will be sponsoring a Halloween film. The film will be the OMEN, which is an K rated movie. Debate was held on Officers Chosen To Fill Vacated Offices Terri Davis, Photo Bruce Logan replaces Bruce Burnette as Intramurals Vice Pres. of the Executive Council. It was decided to show the film. It will be held on UTC Campus in the cafeteria area. The Mental Retardation Association of I'tah is sponsering an annual bazaar on November :(rd. The Ixr.aar will be held at the National Guard Armory. To raise money the association is raffling a Ford Pinto. They are By Greg Peterson. asking UTC to help sell raffle tickets for the drawing. The Pinto will lx" on display on the UTC Campus and UTC will help in the advertising of the event. The Student Govern-, ment will be taking a three day trip October 11, 12. & i:i. They will be attending Association College Unions Interaction Convention. ACT I will be held in Laramie, Wyoming. Colleges from six states will attend this convention. The government plans to charter a bus. Terri Davis and Bruce Ix)gan are the two new members of the student council, filling the positions vacated. Terri Davis, 19. of Ix)gan Utah was chosen the Public Relations Vice President. The Council feels she is qualified for the job. Terri of 1719 South Village Lane, Orem graduated from Logan j High and has attended a year USU. She has worked at lx)gan hospital as the personal assistant and did their advertising also. She has a 4.0 GPA and v her major is Legal 1 Assistant. Her main objective is to make the students aware of the ) school activities before ' they happen, and con-' tribute her positive at-; titude about UTC. Bruce Logan has taken over the Intermurals Vice , President's Office, and is 1 from Layton. Utah. His qualifications include playing baseball, football and basketball for Layton High. Currently he is trying out for the baseball team and has been encouraged by Coach Miner to help with the in-termural sports at UTC. Bruce has played city sports and has coached the 4-K) year olds in civic sports. As for the Vice President Office, there will be no one to fill that vacancy. Lee Barrus will i "Cobra," one of fifty National Guard helicopters in Utah, was a part ol recruitment efforts by the Guard Oct. 10. The "Bird" landed on the Student Center Quad where it attracted much attention from curious students. Our efforts in recruiting students were successful." Stated Sgt. Several teachers from Utah Technical College will be attending the meetings. Many Departments will be excusing class on Friday because of these UEA meetings.
