Final elections wiil be held next Thursday, April 24 and an election dance to announce the new officers will be April 25 from 8:30 to midnight. Candidates for student-body president are Mark Fisher and David M. Larsen. Fisher is majoring in Business Management and General Education. He is a native of Maryland. Larsen currently resides in Provo and is an Electronic Technician Major. Robert Harmer and Patricia Peterson are running for the office of Vice President. Harmer is an Electronics Technician Major residing in the Payson area. Petersen is a Legal Assistant major from Provo. Marion is majoring in General Education and states that her experience on the team was fun and memorable. According to Monta mim 1ST i Sharon Deaton Sandra Haglund Student Sharon Deaton is running for Cultural Vice President. She is a Secretarial Major from Orem. Sandra Haulund is running for Financial Director. She is a Secretarial Major from Spanish Fork, Utah. Any candidate for elected office must have a Clark, a Fashion Merchandising Major the most important part of her time on the team was the "close personal relationship with the coach." She said that all the women were helped to feel important and needed by their relationship with Sharon Benson, the Coach for the women's sports. The ten girls on the team are fulfilling various vocations in the school and developing their physical and emotional being by participating in the sports at Back On It's Feet The Tradewinds is once again on the Presses and coming to the students at UTC, however, on a different schedule than in the past. The paper will be distributed every other Friday, instead of every Friday. Because of budget problems the Tradewinds PROVOOREM Bruce Bastian Barbara Boyack Office cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 or 3.0 for the preceding quarter. All candidates must be full time students presently enrolled at UTC. Students should be enrolled in school for all of the year that he or she is in office. UTC. At the present time they are preparing for the baseball season and are hoping to be able to bring home some wins for the school. The Utah Technical College Women's Basketball Team should be commended for their sportsmanlike behavior on and off the courts. They did try very hard to bring home some points for the school but were not able to. The baseball season will give them an opportunity to gain more friends, a closer relationship with their coach and each other. was forced to quit printing, until money owed from past advertising could be collected. The Newspaper is now back on its feet and will print four issues for the remainder of the quarter. Deadline for articles is Monday at noon. . April 18, 1980 Business Student Honored Tamra Turpin, a student at the Utah Technical College at Provo and Orem was selected to represent the college at an evening honoring outstanding business students from the National Secretaries Association (International), Timp Valley Chapter. Miss Turpin received first place in the executive typist category for the Business Olympics held during winter quarter. She was selected by the faculty at UTC to represent the college on the basis of her scholastic record, secretarial skills, and human relations abilities. Tamra Turpin Scholarships Available Applications for 1980-81 Returning Student Scholarships are now available. Any Utah resident student who has completed one full quarter at UTC-Provo and who has a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B) may apply. The scholarships will cover full tuition of $129 per term (not fees) for three quarters of the next academic year. Students receiving the scholarships will be expected to complete a minimum of 12 credit hours with a 3.0 average grade for each term the award is received. Applications are available at the Financial Aids Office on the Provo Campus and at the Career Development Center on the Orem Campus. Transcripts are not necessary as grades will be obtained by the Financial Aids Office from the Registrar's Office. Those students who wish to be considered must submit a completed Scholarship Application to the Financial Aids Office by 3:30 p.m., May 1. .1980.. . . . , , :
