News & Feature Editor Birds of a feather flock together. Dan Quayle flew into Provo last Thursday for a Republican Party rally at the UVCC Provo campus. Quayle, as well as local and state officials, dropped in to campaign for nestmate Karl Snow, Republican Candidate of the Third Congres- Quayle it greeted by Utah support last Thursday's rally. ; . . . . i UVCC Dance Team wins national competition The UVCC Dance Team ',. has found that hard work does indeed pay off. The , Dance Team recently won ' first place at a national colle-; giate dance competition in II- linois. The UVCC team com-- peted against six other college teams at the "Dancing II-: linois" competition, held on Oct 27 at the University of Illinois. The dancers from ' UVCC brought home more ' first and second place trophies than any other team. The speakers addressed a crowd that was thin for a visit from the Vice President, in what the Snow Campaign Comittee's press release called "the most Republican district in the nation." Quayle began his address with a story about his family's "latest edition, the English Setter named Chillie," then went on to more serious top ics. "Just as you can predict that BYU will go to another great Bowl game," said the Vice President, "I will predict that Karl Snow is going to Washington come this January."Issues discussed included the environment, economy, debt, Eastern Europe, China's student Democracy movement, as Snow stated, "...those cherished Republi- ers after "The dancers from other schools really looked up to the UVCC. As a prelude to the speeches the Snow campaign organized "a great patriotic program." High school bands, doggers, a childrens choir and others stretched performances and repeated musical numbers as Air Force Two's landing was delayed. "Although our team did not have the experience the other teams had, we were very dedicated and anxious to do well. We now plan to work even harder for the next competition, " Hansen said.
