Volume 10 Number 14 OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF UTAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE AT PROVOOREM January 22, 1982 Search Underway For Stolen Painting A lithograph of the painting "The Sacrafice" was stolen from the mechanical electrical building where it was being stored during the art show sponsored by the Utah Arts council. The lithograph is owned by Bruce Lowney and is enclosed in a plain crome frame. Its estimated worth is $600. Apparently the thief rumaged through the stack of art work before choosing this particular lithograph. There is no evidence of breaking and entering. Any UTC student interested may pick up an application from Tom Hover, the Student Council advisor, in the student center office or submit a resume to him or any member of the council. Each applicant will be interviewed and reviewed by the council. The duties of the secretary include taking the minutes at all student council meetings, typing up letters Ski Party Set The Annual Student Ski Party will be held Thursday, February 4, 1982. All faculty and staff are also invited to participate. This year's party will be held at Solitude Ski Resort. Skiing will be available from 3:30-9:30 p.m. A dance will be held at 9:30 and a movie at 7:30. Tickets are available at the Student Center Office. Transportation will be available and will leave the Business Building Parking Lot on the Orem Cmapus at 2:30 that afternoon. Cost will be $8.50 for skiiers, which includes ski pass, dance, movie, dinner and transportation. Non-skiiers may also purchase tickets at $6.00, which includes dance, movie, dinner and transportation. Contact Wade Hansen in the Studentbody Offices for further information. Search Starts For UTC President Position By Tom Winger The Utah State Board of Regents Chairman Kem C. Gardner has elected members for the UTC Presidential Search Committee. The function of the committee, chaired by Ms. Reba Keele, is to advertise for and screen applicants from around the community, state, and nation. This will be a very open search with 200 applicants expected to respond. The search committee is responsible for narrowing down the applications to five or six, with the final decision left up to the Board of Regents. Applications for the presidency will be accepted until March 1. According to Ava Andelin, secretary to President Sorensen. the committee contains a broad cross section of the business and educational community whose interests will be represented. The studentbody of UTC will be represented on the committee by President Kerry Graves. Dance Marathon To Be Tonight A Dance Marathon at the Star Palace benefiting the March of Dimes will be held from 9 p.m.. Jan. 22. until noon on Jan. 23.
