TRADEWIND L VOLUME 3, NUMBER 19 Marv Frandsen Foil Scholarship Deadline Extended "The deadline for scholarship applications has been extended to April 15 for fall returning students," said Mike Johnson, Financial Aids Director. "This new policy regarding scholarships for returning students is being implemented this month. The revised program will better aid the student in making plans for the coming school year." The guidelines for the program are in the following paragraphs. All scholarships for returning students for 1974-75 will be awarded this spring. We will 1.0 longer be awarding them from quarter to quarter. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the Inter-club Council Time And Place Changed The Interclub Council which consists of Presidents and-or Representatives of "on campus" clubs, have a meeting every Wed. at 2 p.m. in room 215 to discuss Interclub activities and related subjects important to aid in. keeping Interclub functions running smoothly. The showcase located in the student lounge will contain a calendar with a listing of all approved Interclub activities, and club members are urged to check this calendar to keep current with Interclub activities.If your club wishes to have its activities listed on the calendar the procedure for turning in the "Request for Activities Form" is as follows: J . A Bruce Larsen cumulative G.P.A. earned at UTC. Eligible students will be awarded a scholarship for the academic year. They must, however, maintain a G.P.A. of at least 3.0 from quarter to quarter to keep the award. Any student with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better may apply. Only Utah resident students may apply. Any returning student wishing to apply must submit an application to the Financial Aids Office by April 1. Awards will be made and students will be notified by mid April. If there are any further questions. Financial Aids Director, Mike Johnson would be glad to answer questions. 1) Pick up forms from the information desk in the main hall. 2) Fill out form with all requested information and hand to the switchboard operator to be placed in the Interclub Council Chairman's box. 3) If activity is approved it will appear on the calendar one week after being submitted. 4) A summary of events will then be turned in as soon after the activity as possible. 5) All requests should be submitted at least two (2) weeks and preferably three (3) weeks in advance of the activity to keep our calendar current and to aid in ease of handling of your requests. UTAH TECHNICAL Marilyn Bounous ii Marv Frandsen, a freshman from Los Angeles, who is majoring in accounting is running for UTC Studentbody President. Bruce Larsen, running on the same ticket as Marv as his Vice-President is a freshman from Santaquin, Utah, majoring in business management. Marilyn Bounous, majoring in secretarial from Provo is on Marv's ticket also. Their platform is as follows: 1. Follow-up of appropriation bill for new campus, 2. Review and improve parking facilities, 3. Propose clock-bell system in all trailers, 4. Campus participation and improve school pride, 5. Better public relations and recognition, 6. . Perform Functions pertaining to offices, 7. Proposed activities, 8. Correlation with faculty, students, and student gov't., 9. Provide better student government, 10. Develop working budget for 1974-1975 school year, 11. Perform outstanding service for school, 12. Keep students informed on what is going on at all times. Marv, speaking for himself and his running makes said, "We have the sincere desire to serve the studentbody of UTC in a way that would be beneficial to them, as students, to those within the faculty and to those who will have any connection with this school." This has made me more aware and sensitive to the 'challenges' which confront us. I'm a native of California and have made such places 3"s Hawaii and Utah my home. I'm presently residing here in Provo. My interest includes such things as skiing (water and snow), cycling, traveling and meeting people. I enjoy attending UTC and hope to be part of it's growth. I am running because I feel my running mate is highly qualified and would be a sincere and devoted studentbody president and that 1 could totally support him in serving the student body here at UTC next year. On April 5th you will have the opportunity to vote for Melody Johnson for Women's Vice President. Melody, who comes to us from Orem, is majoring in Fashion Merchandising. The gas shortage could be just what the doctor ordered. An hour-long walk produces muscular fatigue, induces real and pleasant relaxation, and can break the vicious pattern of chronic fatigue for those who are "too tired to unwind," "too tired to think," "too tired to sleep."
