Volume 10 Number 29 OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF UTAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE AT PROVOOREM May 21, 1982 "Classrooms Will Not Be Affected" By Michele Caneen On Monday, May 17, the Space Utilization ad hoc committee met, and final discussions were held pertaining to the Administrations discussed move of Business and Computer Services from Provo to Orem campus. Data and imput from faculty, deans, the LRC and students, had been requested by Chairman LaVar Rockwood in previous meetings. All the suggestions and options were studied and it was agreed at the May meeting that the final proposals be presented to in-coming President, Dr. Marvin Higbee. 1. BU-146-Conference room changed to Computer Center andor satellite Registration Office andor Business Office operations. 2. BU-1 31 -Conference room changed to a classroom function. 3. LC-407-Conference room changed to a classroom function. 4. LRC Fourth Level-Construct classroom on east side of fourth level of the LRC between rooms LC-414 tnd LC-415. 5. BusinessAuto Trades struct Personnel Office, and classroom space in the concourse between the Business Building and the Auto Trades Building. Concourse-Con- conference room. Chatterley. li i : &; 1 ?i ( Phyllis Pierce Mudbowl Games to be a Splash Pierce Chosen Valedictorian Phyllis Pierce, a major in Hotel-Restaurant Management has been selected as valedictorian for Utah Technical College. Ms. Pierce, who is a native of California, will speak on the topic, "The Value oi Education." She has maintained a 4.0 average for all her school work at Utah Technical College. By Pat Petersen The Second Annual UTC Mud Bowl Tournament will get under way on Monday, May 24 and run every afternoon through Friday, May 28. There are 18 teams representing UTC who will battle it out for the championship. There must be 4 female and 6 male team members on the field from each team at all times. The game times and schedules are: Monday 1:00 p.m Coffin Nailers vs Mud Hens 2:15 p.m Dirty Dozen and Vi vs Filthy Frogs (alias the faculty) 3:30 p.m Injectors vs Electric Hogs 4:45 p.m.. . Super Swine vs Mechanical Mud Tuesday 1:00 p.m Baseball B.A.'s vs Jocks 2:15 p.m Steves Slimeys vs Gators 3:30 p.m Swamp Things vs Mud Maulers 4:45 p.m. Dirt Diggers vs Body Snatchers Members of all teams are requested to be out by the tennis courts at their scheduled time. The winners of these first 8 games will then play Wednesday, May 26 during the same time periods. Some of the areas represented throughout the school are Drafting, Welding, Business, Smokers Lounge, Auto and Diesel trades and of course the Faculty, who claim they are going to beat all comers. The Faculty team includes such notables as, J.D. Davidson, Elaine Englehardt, Vince Miner, Gwen Anderson, Lori and Dave Richards, Barbara Dabling and Karen and Barry Oates. They are going to be a tough team to beat. We invite everyone to come out and watch this history making game. They play the Welders at 2:15 on Monday. The winners of Wednesday's games will meet again on Thursday at 1:00 and 2:15. The winners of these games will play the same afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for the school championship. On Friday the games include our championship team against another college, like Snow College, Salt Lake UTC and CEU. Trophies will be awarded Friday Night with a special video presentation of the mud bowl during the intermission at the dance, held in the Mud Bowlers honor. Everyone is invited to come witness this hilarious activity. So come out to the 1982 Mud Bowl Tournament.
