Volume 10 Number 26 OFFICIAL STUDENT NEWSPAPER OF UTAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE AT PROVC OREM April 30, 1982 Data Being Collected Regarding Placement Of Offices in Classrooms By MicheleCaneen A meeting of the Space Utilization Committee was held at 8 a,m. Wednesday. LaVar Rockwood, Chairman of the Committee, announced the considerations concerning the re-location of the computer and business services that are presently on Provo Campus. The proposal stipulates that the move will have an impact on classroom space. Alternate areas for classrooms are being considered, including utilizing rooms in the LRC and the third floor. Future expansion of the Student Center, the Bookstore, Nook, game room and the cafeteria will be completed by Winter, 1984. The third plan includes accomodating new classrooms and office space. The fourth plan discusses the potential growth of UTC with the probable addition of BYUstudents who will be affected, since the "Y" is phasing out its vocational programs and dropping Para-legal courses. The fifth point stipulates students and faculty must be involved in the planning. In point six, Provo Campus Administrators stress that it would be an advantage to them to be on Orem Campus if the Computor and Business Services are relocated.Decision For President Deadlocked The decision for the new UTC President was dead-locked after a 6-6 vote by the Board of Regents.
