Tom Rudd and Kim Pyne When asked what their platform was going to be, both Tom Rudd and Kim Pyne stated that their first and for most interest was going to be the students and student involvement. "We want to represent the students and their wants, and get the students who are aw from home involved in activites that they are interested in," Tom stated. Kim Pyne said, "We want to get the students involved in more activites. We think that it would be a good idea to hav e a suggestion box, and work it out with the staff so that the students can have the activites they want. Tom Rudd is from Orem and graduated from Orem High School. He is now majoring in law inforcement at UTC. Tom served on a mission to Ohio and West Virginia. He is active in sports-especially baseball and dirt biking. Tom is a past president of INC Club in Orem, and he is single and available. Kim Pyne graduated from' .Orem High and is majoring in carpentry at UTC. He is active in sports and has been the state champion in wrestling and boxing. Kim fulfilled a mission to the Eastern States, in New York City, and is presently employed at Geneva. He is married to the former Kathleen Murdoch. 1 L Richard Tom Rudd President Bob Bob Elvin, a welding "major and Veterans Association president, is concerned with transfer of credits. "When a person takes a class or program here at UTC, he receives less credit hours than he would at most other schools in the state. This is for the same coursewith the same, text-book. "As a result, when he tries to transfer he finds he lacks certain credit hours and must make up for the deficiency, often with courses he has already taken!'"I am running for studentbody vice-president," says Richard Grant, a Hotel and Restaurant Management major. We also plan to closely examine studentbody expenditures and tighten up any slack .we find." "As a first step we want to urge more student involvement. Regretfully their pictures and platforms aren't present. Students are advised to get to know the candidates and really find out what they believe. If you don't like the way things are going now it is probably your own fault. If you don't vote you are voting forthewinner.Ifyoudo vote and your candidate loses, at least the winner knows that you want and expect the same treatment that the others would have given. Marsha Hacking Marsha Hacking is running for Women's Vice President. Marsha is from Orem, and is in her third quarter at UTC. She is majoring in Electronics. When asked what activites she is involved in at school, Marsha replied, "Electronics, electronics, electronics!" If elected, I will be working with AWS, the fashion shows, and I will be in charge of all the campus teas. I will do my best and help out wherever I can," Marsha said. Marsha states, "I think the studentbody officers did a really great job this past year. Each year the program at UTC gets better and better, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the school's progress. Marsha would like to see more activites for the married students, and is looking forward to the future intercollegiate sports for WOMEN.
