07 fl f o fl IJ jflf r lunfte' 10 Number 6 OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF UTAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE AT PROVOOREM November 6, 1981 Moderate Response To Blood Drive By Jamie Cram The Halloween Blood Drive attracted a smaller group of ghosts and goblins willing to donate than in years past, but close to eighty pints were collected and the drive was attributed a "mild success" by the student council. Over 200 pints were donated last year and according to Social Vice President Karen Ottesan, "this year there just wasn't enough support by the faculty. ' ' Ruthanne Skinner, Chairman of the Central Utah Chapter of American Red Cross says students come up with many poor excuses for not giving blood. However, she sees more women giving blood than men. "The fellows say they're afraid of needles," Skinner replied. Of eighty people who donated, only 2 became faint and required first aid treatment. Both students were male. The donated blood will be distributed throughout Utah and the rest of the United States on a need basis. "The American Red Cross wishes to thank those who participated," said Skinner.
