Vol. 9 No. 16 Students Enjoy Homecoming UTC's loyal - sports fans got dressed up in their favorite uniform for sports day on Monday. Basketball. football, baseball and many other sports were represented by their devoted fans. Monday night the I'TC itinerary included a free Eagles, Poco, Loggins and Messina and A m e r i c a Concert. Pioneer, a group of 'i guys (mm Lehi, Utah, performed some great songs from these groups and more. Kill Brown, Rick Carter and Doug Carbine are the :i guitar players who make up Pioneer. They did an excellent job of singing and playing. Tuesday was country and western day. Cowboys were roaming all over campus. They ranged from urban cowboys to genuine Wyoming cowboys. Both Monday and Tuesday there were cakes JJ Coach Gary Gardner him are Pat Petersen and LeM C-Ed given away to the best dressed. Coach Gardner took the cake on sports day and Virginia Ap-plegate got it on Tuesday. They both were great. Bobby socks, flair skirts, and pony tails were the dress for the L'TC coeds on Wednesday, as 50's day got underway. Some of the . fellows wore white socks, rolled up levis, and sneakers. Ilillbiily day took place on Thursday with students dressing anywhere from raggedy to Little Abner style. Thursday was also a memorable evening with the annual "Sweethearts Dinner Dance." Today students are to come dressed in Blue and yellow, the school colors. There will be a pep ralley proceeding the Basketball game. Miss UTC and Her Attendants Chosen by Diane Webb Sandy Nielsen, attending her first quarter here, was crowned UTC's Homecoming Queen in an exiiting ceremony Wednesday night. She now goes on to compete Technical College - ProvoOrem. for the Miss Utah title. Sandy is from Lehi, majoring in Business at UTC. taking three credit hours, in connection with Communications at BYU. She designed and tailored her entire wardrobe for the pageant. She placed as second runner up in the Miss Utah Pageant last year. For her talent presentation, Sandy performed a flute solo. Linda Alldridge the most resembling Wardle. i - aecompnied by Russell Daley. Judge Gordon Bullock stated, "The flute solo was the frosting on the cake," for her win. Elle Davis, of Spanish Fork was chosen as first attendant. She choreographed and performed a modern dance number for her talent presentation. Elle has attended two quarters at UTC and is majoring in Special (center) was chosen by the Student Council as the good old days on Wednesday. Photo by Lisa February 27, 1981 Education. Kim Bishop was chosen as second attendant to the queen. She recently moved here from Alaska. This is her first quarter at UTC, at the present time her major is General Education. Kim gave an excellent performance for her talent presentation by singing. Each girl receives a scholarship at UTC for one year.
