Permanent Fall I.D. Validation Stickers can be picked up at the Career Center on the Orem campus, or Registration Office on the Provo campus. Today is the last day to get your picture taken for I.D. cards this. quarter. The cost is $3.00 plus your tuition receipt card. The next time pictures will be taken will be Jan. 4, 1982, Winter Quarter. Students Attend Mock Legislative Session In SLC By Lisa Hughes News Editor The nineth session of the Utah Intercollegiate Assembly was held November 12-14 at the Capital Building in Salt Lake City. The UIA is a mock session of Congress for the colleges in Utah. Similar to Congress, the number of delegates each school was allowed, depended on the size of that school. Five delegates; Kerry Graves and Ryan Thorn were the Senators, and Bill Brown, Karen Otteson, and Wade Hansen were the House of Representatives from UTC. These mock sessions are conducted in the same manner as a real session of Congress, following parlimentary procedure where each bill presented is discussed, debated, and lobbied. Out of about 80 bills presented, only five will be taken to the state legislature this year. At the end of each session, the elections for next year's offices are held. Bill 201: Tuition For Non-Resident Students, stating that the law allowing residents within a seventy-five mile radius . of the Utah border to pay resident tuition be charged to out-of-state tuition. Bill 206: Tuition increase, states a request for tuition increases to be held down to eight percent for both residents and non-residents. Bill 215: Teacher Salary increase, asks for raising the allocation of salary revenue to the state insitutions to a level that will make their average salaries comparable to those which the state employees are presently Continued on Page 3 1 - k., Steve Robinson, a commercial art student, is shown good use.
