Box 1609, Provo, Utah 84603 October 25, 1982 Inauguration Festivities Set President Higbee announced school hours for Friday, November 19, the day of his formal Inauguration as President of Utah Technical College, Classes will be closed between 9 and 12 noon, but all students will be able to attend classes before 9 a.m., and after 12 noon, on that day. President Higbee would like to invite all UTC students to attend the Inauguration. After the ceremony, there will be a luncheon held for dignitaries and visiting guests. Friday evening there will be an Inauguration BalL Dress will be semi-formal; light refreshments will be served. Photo by Steve Robinson. Miss UTC To Be Crowned Nov. 17 By Mark Currie The annual Miss UTC beauty contest is just around the corner with the final announcement being set for Nov. 17. There have been eleven contestants chosen from the applications. Their names are; Kathleen Remington, Debra Henderson, Lisa Reedy, Julie Rasmussen, Deborah Cowan, Pamela Hartley, Jane Eddie, Lisa Castle, Rachael McBride, Bonnie Jean Hawks, and Kimberly Thorpe. The final competition, held Wed. Nov. 17 at 7:30 in the Student Center will determine which contestant will go on to compete in the Miss Utah pageant, held in June. There will be two days of competition and four events each girl will be judged in, to earn the Miss UTC crown. Starting on Tues. Nov. 16, the girls will model their bathing suits. On this day they will be interviewed by the judges. On Wednesday evening they will model their formal gowns as well as perform in a special dance production choreographed by Miss American Fork, Joette Pitcher. The new Miss UTC will be crowned as a highlight to the evening. The queen and her court will spend the next evening celebrating by candlelight at the formal, dinner-dance. Please note that this will take place Thursday, Nov. 18. Tickets for the dinner will not be sold at the door but will be available in the student center and also from the contestants. The tickets for Wednesday night will be $2.00 and should be available soon.
