(TRADE-WIND i - -I Vol. 6 No. 11 UTAH TECHNICAL COLLEGE AT PROVO December 9, 1977 Svmfatttis Plow Come one come all and enjoy a night of entertainment for a low price and be treated like a ' king. On Friday Dec. 9 the ASUTC-P, will be sponsering a candlelight dinner dance called Under the Mistletoe. Successful Movie Presented By Dennis Cowden The Family Night Movie on Dec. 5 was the Jerry Lewis movie, Cinderfella. It's a mad take off of Cinderella, Jerry Iwis being the poor neglected fella. His fairy godfather turns him into a sophisticated socialite who marries the princess. The Student Activities committee presented the movie and two cartoons. Popcorn, candy, and other refreshments were available. There were over 120 inattendance. Much of the hassles of registration can be begins next alleviated by pre-registering. Pre-registration The evening will start at 7 p.m. beginning with a meal including stuffed pork chops, baked potatoes, salad, vegetables, and all the other trimmings for a Christmas dinner. The dance will start at 8:30 featuring Southbound who Deai'lj Cause of UTG Svudcnv Found Charles Swasey, a UTC student majoring in welding, was killed recently in the Salt Lake County Jail. Reasons for his death were pending an investigation by the State Medical Examiner's Office. According to Salt Lake County Attorney, Paul Van Damm, the reason for Swasey's death was a strangulation aspyxiation. This condition was caused by the arresting officers who put a force hold on Swasey to place him in a cell. Mr. Swasey was brought into the jail, and placed into a cell until he could be booked. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died 45 minutes frame Li will be playing light rock and music. Tickets may be picked up from any of the student body officers. The cost is $10 per couple and the dress will be semi-formal. No tickets will be sold at the door. after he was arrested by the officers. Attorney Van Damm has admonished the Salt Lake County Sheriff's office to train their officers in new restraint j.rocedurcs, to avoid any situation of this nature reoccuring.A Thought Just for today I will adjust myself to what is. On December 3, Tom Hover, Lauri Hart, Elissa Poulson and Clirismas The Christmas Party for kids held by the ASUTC-P Activities Committee, presents Harvey and Cannonball from Hotel :t ... Sjfc" " ' ' Christmas this year. Christmas Dennis and Ellen Cowden went down to Salina Canyon in the Fishlake National Forrest. While trudging through dense scrub-oak and climbing hills they managed to cut a few Pariy Balderdash and SANTA. The party will be Wednesday Dec. 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Sorensen Student Center. X 1 is an especially enchanting trees. They dined elegantly on tuna sandwiches, hot chocolate, and chocolate-chip cookies amid the natural beauty. It was a fun time for all that were involved. Cost is a $1 per person. There will be candy and refreshments. Pictures with Santa will be taken.
